The head of state conducted a visit to address Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region on the weekday. The president confirmed that he met with soldiers at the military base of the initial brigade of the state defense force Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya area, an urban center approximately 20km from the focal point.

Intense Circumstances in the Area

Recent mapping from a local initiative indicated that Russian forces had made gains into Pokrovsk and nearby locations, though much of it lacked clear dominance by either side. The status is precarious, with accounts indicating that opposition troops were fortifying positions and building up positions in some districts.

Invading troops are pushing forward in the Pokrovsk direction and appear to be operating with enhanced confidence within the city proper.

Research institutes observed that national troops had recaptured substantial territory of a opposition incursion in the Dobropillya direction, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk operation.

National Aerial Attacks Inside the Federation

Ukrainian long-range drones struck a factory approximately 1,300km inside Russia at Sterlitamak. Regional authorities announced a detonation at the industrial complex that led to the partial collapse to suffer damage, adding that the origin of the detonation was unconfirmed. The armed forces leadership stated there was significant destruction to the complex.

Defense units said it struck a petroleum facility at the location in the Russian region east of Moscow. The extent of the damage was under evaluation. The Russian regional governor verified an assault by multiple unmanned aircraft near the refinery.

Russian law prohibits draftees from being deployed to combat, but after their military service they join the reserve forces, exposing them to potential of being sent to war.

Significant armed forces costs have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with Moscow raising taxes to cover increasing gaps.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for Allied Help

Zelenskyy called on America to remain open to supplying Kyiv with extended-distance arms. Addressing a European Union summit from the Pokrovsk area, the Ukrainian president also demanded more western sanctions on Russia – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU before 2030.

International Support and Foreign Policy Updates

The European nation plans to raise its military aid to the nation by three billion euros next year to about €11.5bn, the treasury department in the German government said on Tuesday. This includes, among other things, cannons, drones, armoured vehicles and the substitution of air defense units.
