Iran is prepared to resume nuclear negotiations with Washington as long as it is treated with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi declared only diplomacy produced results, and revealed new appeals had been made by mediators to reopen negotiations with the US government. He said Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Iran was not yet able to allow the global atomic watchdog to visit struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Walking a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is walking a complex path since Iran does not want appear to be operating from a position of weakness, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out more powerful defensively and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the main reason of the impasse in the previous talks.

Earlier Negotiations Abruptly Ended

The earlier sessions of discussions between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with Washington's assistance, targeted Tehran's atomic facilities in a 12-day war that culminated with Donald Trump declaring the locations had been eliminated. Following this, Western states employed their authority to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Tehran representatives claimed they felt they had achieved a "magic solution" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could enrich uranium. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been agreed in the talks that Washington's technical specialists could work inside Iran, but that was a natural consequence of the partnership suggestion. Diplomats asserted on multiple occasions they had achieved a deal with Washington's diplomat the American negotiator only for the deal to collapse due to "detractors in America".

Current Status

Iranian officials stated the partnership proposal was now withdrawn, but it seems quite possible the suggestion could be revived in certain ways if talks resume.

The Iranian foreign ministry has been criticized of passivity in the aftermath of Washington's unmediated tactics, but Iran asserts dialogue is not part of a performance.

Political Stance

In his address to the forum, designed to portray the US as a dominant force that misuses the concept of global regulations, Araghchi declared the 12-day war demonstrated the conflict could not be ended by combat operations. He said the assaults started with a US demand for an total Iran submission and culminated with an absolute demand for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is convinced the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were executed with full US knowledge and coordination, making confidence difficult to rebuild.

Negotiations Continues the Final Answer

Araghchi said: "Tehran was not the one that had deserted dialogue; it was the United States and the western countries that had always attempted to enforce their desires during the discussions. Negotiations can still be alive and continues the ultimate solution to settle disputes, but its requirements, rules and tenets must be followed."

"In case they address to the Iranian people with the language of dignity and respect, they will get a response in the identical approach."

Restoration and Recovery

In what is described by Tehran representatives as the struggle of restoration and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was certain Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been reestablished. We learned many lessons from this engagement; we have discovered our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the adversary."

He stated: "We effectively endured this war. Our atomic expertise, which they planned to eliminate, continues to exist. The sites and equipment, if eliminated, will be reconstructed; what is important is the will of the nation of Iran and then the national cohesion that they aimed at, but were unable to shatter. The citizens of Tehran have developed stronger, more cohesive, and more backing of the government and the country in the wake of this invasion."
